FitSift - an exercise search engine

FitSift is an exercise search engine designed to encourage users into exercise and then maintain their interest. All to often we raise our own personal barriers to exercise based upon the weather, our location, or the time that we currently have available to exercise. Equally it is often hard to find the motivation to exercise as the rewards can seem so intangible. FitSift provides the motivation that we need and breaks ...more »

Novel Walk: A playful mobile experience

We have been thinking about what people respond to in life. What makes people engage and change their behaviour and what captures their imaginations. For us we believe stories and physicalising content might be the answer to this challenge. We wish to mix the art of storytelling with technology and geography, interweaving it into our local surroundings. The experience would be delivered through a mobile app and would ...more »

Greenspace Events App

The use of green spaces for events and activities can often go unnoticed and undiscovered in the local area. It is common that people want to try new activities or go to new events but get frustrated searching through the internet or social media. Our idea is to create an app which will act to help discover, promote and attend events. This might include fitness events (yoga, runs, etc.) or events (mass picnics, promo ...more »

Greenspaces route guidance app

Problems: Sustaining high levels of wellbeing can often be an issue for people who work desk-jobs and commute by means of cramped public transport or high pollution roadsides. Part of the issue is a lack of interaction between people and the natural environment which is often simply a case of a lack of understanding over what greenspaces can be used for. Solution: A new app or extension to a current app which instead ...more »

Grease-it / Household cooking oil pick-up service

Could London become the first city in the world massively recycling its household oil? Ideally, we should be all sending our old cooking oil for proper disposal or energy production, avoiding costly blockages to the drains and further pollution. However, unlike restaurants, households do not produce huge quantities of fats which makes it uneconomic and unpractical to organise their proper disposal. If there was an efficient ...more »

Aeriality – Augmented Aerial Reality

Aeriality is an augmented reality app for drone users that overlays geolocated mapping data onto a drone’s live video feed. The app will be made available to hobbyist drone pilots, and will display features from OS maps, such as footpaths, camp sites, viewpoints and places of historic interest, in their precise real-world location within the live camera view in real-time as the drone flies. We believe this will give users ...more »

Mobile phone app to create incentive

This is screaming for a mobile phone app... The idea being that people can create areas or zones on a map and add their challenge or exercise based on the phones GPS (for example selecting the road where they live and recording the best time for speed pushchair walking) Similar to the Strava app, this would allow users to add normal everyday activities such as walking, playing frisbee, carrying the baby and turn them ...more »

The Whole World of Water - plotted on the blue planet app. 4 all

There is one solution. There are many challenges. 5 themes. Our idea HAS to include all five. Our first job is to make the geopositioning of each challenge fun for contributors in such a transparent and open way that the water data collected and plotted is useful for those who care and for those charged with the responsibility of caring. The technical side of connecting the waterscape with people through geopositioning ...more »
