Local planning application review and display

Review of planning applications by consultees (Local councils) is now done electronically and without paper copies of drawings. Preparing for review meetings can be very time consuming - you can have 100+ files all sequentially numbered with no way of knowing which is which. (=4hrs of work to prepare for meeting). Web server based system will extract data for new applications. Data is - reference numbers, grid location, ...more »

Your Local: Every little counts.

Map indexed local food production and distribution network. There are three things needed to distribute food effectively - understanding where food is, when it is available and how it can be delivered to the end user. The idea is to identify local food production (farms) and produce that is available from them depending on the season. This information will need to be provided to the general public. Local Coupon Treasure Hunt

My idea to encourage people to support their local shops and busineses in a fun and compelling way, is to set up a treasure hunt puzzle game. The game will be internet based and run in a web browser. Recent discussion in the media has highlighted the fact that our high streets are increasingly becoming bland and identikit. Shoppers are losing a sense of personal pride and connection to their local area. Encouraging local ...more »

Community Geocompute Applications hosted in a Cloud

The Ordnance Survey has a feature-rich set of up-to-date maps and other resources at a range of scales covering Great Britain. Maps portray the location of features, geographical distributions, topography and changes over time. Social and community entrepreneurs make extensive maps but often want to augment them by adding annotated overlays showing the geographical location of features which are the focus of their ideas ...more »
